Bet Types

Inside Bet

Inside bets are wagers placed on certain numbers or groupings of numbers. These consist of the line, street, corner, split, and straight-up bets. Because inside bets have lower odds than outside bets, they typically award larger payouts.

1. Six Line

Six-line bets cover six consecutive numbers. All the numbers on any two adjacent rows of the table, such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, or 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, are covered by this wager. The chip is positioned for this wager between the two rows of numbers you wish to cover and on the line dividing the inside and outside bets. This bet has odds of 5:1 and is sometimes called a ‘Quint’ bet.

2. Basket

Also known as a 5 Number Bet this wager can only be made in American Roulette. It entails placing a wager on pockets zero (0, 00) as well as 1, 2, and 3. Outside Bet

You can think of outside bets as the more general wagers as they are bets on categories. High/low, red/black, even/odd, dozen, and column bets are a few types of outside bets. Because these wagers cover a broad range of numbers, outside bets pay less than inside bets, but are also beginner-friendly.

1. Column

This wager is also known as ‘thirds’ as it splits the numbers into 3 columns. Column 1 is numbers 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28, 31, 34. Column 2 is numbers 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 23, 26, 29, 32, 35. Column 3 is 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 31, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36.

2. Dozens

This wager also breaks the roulette table up into three parts, though this time there is the first dozen (numbers 1-12), the second dozen (13-24) and the third dozen (25-36).

3. Black

These are bets made exclusively on the table's black numbers. By putting chips in the table's designated "Black" area, you can place this wager.

4. Red

These are bets made solely on the table's red numerals. By putting chips in the table's designated "Red" spot, you can place this wager.

5. Even

This wager covers all even numbers. On the table, the "Even" and "Red" sections are adjacent to one another.

6. Odd

This wager covers all odd numbers. On the table, the "Odd" and "Black" sections are adjacent to one another.

7. High

This wager covers the numbers 19-36. Its section is found on the right side of the table.

8. Low

This wager covers the numbers 1-18. Its section is found on the left side of the table.

Call Bet (Special Bets/Announced Bets)

In roulette, bets covering specific areas of the roulette wheel are referred to as "called bets" or "announced bets." The titles of most of these bets are in French because they are most frequently encountered on French and European roulette tables. These wagers can be classed as fixed or variable, with fixed call bets remaining the same no matter what and variable bets changing upon players' decisions.

1. Neighbours of Zero (Voisins du Zero)

This is a fixed-call bet. The seventeen numbers on the roulette wheel that are closest to zero are covered by the voisins du zero bets. The numbers between 22 and 25 are covered by the wager, with the 0 falling somewhere in the middle. Of all the fixed call bets, the voisins du zero bet covers the biggest portion of the wheel and requires the most betting units to win. The wager combines corner, split, and three-number bets. Additionally, it's the only call bet that allows bets to include multiple units or chips.

2. Thirds of the Wheel (Tiers du Cylindre)

This is a fixed-call bet. The twelve numbers on the opposite side of the wheel from the voisins du zero numbers are covered by the tiers du cylindre bet. This wager precisely covers a third of the wheel.

3. Zero Game (Jeu Zero)

This is a fixed-call bet. In essence, the Zero Game wager is a scaled-down variation of the Neighbours of Zero call wager. This wager includes any numbers on the roulette wheel that fall between and include 12 and 15.

4. Orphans (Orphelins)

This is a fixed-call bet. The final 8 numbers not covered by the Neighbours of Zero or the Thirds of the Wheel stake form the ‘Orphans’ bet, called so because they are the leftovers from the other two wagers.

5. The Neighbours

This is a variable call bet. A neighbour bet is when you wager on five consecutive numbers—for example, 15, 34, 22, 5, and 17—that are adjacent to one another on the wheel as opposed to the table. This is more commonly referred to as a 22 Neighbour Bet in American Roulette.

6. Final Straight

This is a variable call bet. Final wagers, commonly referred to as ‘finaal’ or ‘finale’ wagers, are straight bets on numbers that conclude with the chosen digit. For instance, wagers on the numbers 4, 14, 24, and 34 will be made if your final wager is on ‘4’.

7. Final Split

This is a variable call bet. This is a wager that covers all numbers that include two chosen digits. If you were to select 0 and 1, for instance, your bet would be on 0, 1, 10, 11, 20, 21, 30, and 31.

En Prison (In Prison) Bet

This is a rule of French Roulette that only applies to even money wagers. When a zero is landed, players can either recoup half the value of their wager or apply the bet to the next spin in an ‘all or nothing’ wager.

Fibonacci System

(Better known as the Fibonacci Sequence). You move on to the next number in the sequence and bet the appropriate amount if you lose. D’Alembert System

The D'Alembert System is considered less aggressive than the Martingale technique. With this approach, you simply increase your stake by one when you lose, as opposed to doubling it. This strategy, which is most effective on even-money bets like red or black and even or odd, is designed to yield small wins making it a good beginner strategy.

Andrucci System

The Andrucci System advises players to monitor past outcomes and then take advantage of patterns. Look at the numbers that appeared the most after the first few rounds. Raise your stakes and wager straight up on the most frequently appearing number or place a split bet on the top 2-3 numbers.

Martingale System
